A Doctor's Guide to The New Ballard Score

There are several ways to determine the gestational age of your baby, one can take a history on when was the last day of the mom's menstruation or Ultrasonography can be used (valid for pregnancy <20). The New Ballard Score is a system created by Dr. Jeanne Ballard, MD to assess the gestational age of neonates after they are born. These test are best performed within 12 hours after the birth of the neonate. There are 6 Neuromuscular parameters/criterias and 6 Physical parameters/criterias.

-refer to the New Ballard Score Sheet for scoring purposes-

Neuromuscular Maturity
(1) posture
(2) square window (wrist)
(3) arm recoil
(4) popliteal angle
(5) scarf sign
(6) heel to ear

Physical Maturity
(1) skin
(2) lanugo hair
(3) plantar surface
(4) breast
(5) Eye and ear
(6) Genitals

New Ballard Score = Sum of points for each parameter
The total score reflects the gestational age of the neonate (in weeks)

Lets SMACK and SMASH!

Two weeks ago, i have been listening to Hitz.fm online and heard a song i like named "Smack Into You" by Jon Mclaughlin. So, i went to Limewire and downloaded the song. Until recently, i watched a movie - "Obsessed" stared by some macho man, Beyonce, and the split personality chick from TV hit series "Heroes" (dunno whats her name...) At the end of the movie they played the same song except that it was sang by a girl (Jon Mclaughlin is a guy). So, i did some digging and found out that the same song was sang by Beyonce herself, but named: "Smash Into You" instead of Smack....

Well, both version is very nice and i like it very much. Then i found this on Youtube, A combination of both! Its not an Official song anyhow...but i still like this combination Duet!

Really hope that they can come out with a Duet Version...

Coming soon on Oct 8: An Indonesian invasion of Malaysia

Courtesy of Unspun from http://theunspunblog.com/tag/anti-malaysia/

Probably not since the Taiping rebellion has so much idealism, foolishness, naivety and stupidity has been combined with so much misguided idealism, nationalism and foolishness.

The Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat intends to invade Malaysia with bows and arrows, black magic and other paraphernalia on October 8. One doubts if they would be able to even mount anything on Malaysian soil on that day but if they do so one can only hope that they make a bee line for KJ so he can show how brave he is in the face of hotheads like himself.

What’s remarkable about this whole thing is that there is this bunch of hotheads arming themselves, giving themselves paramilitary training and making public statements about how they intend to invade a neighboring country – and the police in Indonesia do not do anything about it.

And what’s the invovement of the PDIP in all of this? The HQ of the Benteng guys is in a former operations center of the PDIP. What’s the connection?

Indonesian Vigilantes Prepare For Battle in Malaysia
At this moment in Jakarta, a group of Indonesians are putting the final touches to their plan to invade Malaysia and wage war. Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat has announced Oct. 8 as the date of this D-day, when it says it will avenge all the wrongs committed against Indonesia by its neighbor .

Established during this year’s presidential election, the group, also known as the People’s Democratic Defense, has attracted public attention with its protests calling on Indonesians to “kill Malaysians.” Earlier this month, the group set up roadblocks in Menteng, Central Jakarta, in an attempt to detain Malaysian citizens.

However, the roadblocks failed to net any Malaysians, according to Mustar Bona Ventura, the group’s coordinator. “If we had caught them, we would have sent them home,” the 32-year-old economics student said.

He said the group’s anti-Malaysian stance was not motivated solely by claims that the neighboring country has been busy stealing Indonesia’s culture.

“It’s the whole thing, including the claims on our islands and the abusive treatment of Indonesian migrant workers,” he said. “The breaking point was when they insulted us through our national anthem, ‘Indonesia Raya.’ ”

Overall, it was a fun day and the end was really nice!
We start of with some speech from certain 'not so important' people....then followed by our dinner!!! Wow..it was a Damn! nice meal, Chinese malaysia style Hainan Chicken rice! Ichiban, cant believe i can eat this in Medan! Love the F&B ppl and thanks them 4 the delicious food, u all r the best cook!.... during the makan-makan time, we showed the video (ahem..the one that i made...my video =P)

Games, was fun overall, but i have to admit the <猜灯谜> was really not my thing....it was totally boring of me..haha. But the next games which is Guess the missing song lyrics was the best!!! Nice selection of songs including Lee Hom, Ah Mei, Guang Liang, Michael Jackson, Westlife make the entire agenda more like a Karaoke.... then thee day ends with a photo taking session while me and Mannfred blast the hall with Crazy high bass party songs, becoming sth like a DJ..haha.

Well, tats all for today, exam's on next wednesday. wish me luck!
